Fees
- There is a $75 annual membership fee to participate in Share-A-Pet Organization, Inc.
- This includes your annual Therapy Obedience Protection Insurance. This insurance is required for membership and is on a per team basis. Insurance covers therapy teams with up to $1,000,000. worth of liability coverage in the event of something happening while performing proper pet-assisted therapy.
- There is a one time $20 Therapy Obedience Professional Test fee per person/dog team for Pet Program members.
- If two or more people are to handle the same dog, each person will be required to take the TOP test separately with the dog.
All fees are non-refundable. In the event that an individual decides not to join or complete the orientation process or decides to resign from being a volunteer at anytime, these fees will be considered a tax deductible donation to Share-A-Pet Organization, Inc.
Share-A-Pet Pet-assisted Therapy Members are responsible for completing the 3-step orientation process within six months of the date of joining. After six months these members must redo the orientation meeting and will be responsible for paying a $20 late fee.
Share-A-Pet Organization, Inc. is not responsible for other expenses incurred as a result of becoming or while being a Share-A-Pet member.
Policies
Share-A-Pet Organization, Inc. has strict policies regarding the performance of pet-assisted therapy and the representation of the Share-A-Pet Organization and reserves the right to dismiss anyone at anytime whom they feel is not in compliance with Share-A-Pet policies. Please review the Share-A-Pet Guidelines for Proper Pet-Assisted Therapy provided in your orientation packet.
